Twins Get Clutch Win, 5-4
|
The Boston Red Sox got a superb performance from designated hitter Steve Pratt, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 5-4. Pratt went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Jorge Fajardo got credit for the save for Minnesota. It was his 17th of the year. Minnesota is now 32-19, while Boston is 24-27.
Artie Cochran went 1-4 with a double for Minnesota. The 29-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Terence McCray. It was his 31st RBI of the season.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Minnesota manager Robin Ventura.
