San Francisco got a terrific game from center fielder Dusty Lawrence. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 5-4. Lawrence was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The victory gives the White Sox a record of 27-24.

Chicago needed the clutch hitting of António García to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the White Sox on top, 5-4. For the game, García had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," García told the Chicago Daily News.
