Detroit (VSL) Tigers starter Trang Long led his team to victory over the Tampa Bay (VSL) Rays, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Billy Little picked up the win in relief. Raúl Cavazos took the loss for Tampa Bay (VSL). Ken Martínez earned the save for Detroit (VSL), his 5th.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Bob Kilmartin came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Tampa Bay (VSL) pitcher Raúl Cavazos, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Detroit (VSL) on top, 3-2.

"Even if things get a little hairy, Trang trusts his ability," said Detroit (VSL) manager Nate Long.
