In the 8-2 San Diego win over Houston, the impact of Tim McDaniel was substantial. McDaniel, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a .826 OPS, went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. At 23-28, the Padres find themselves in 4th place in the National League West Division.
McDaniel contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Diego in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, McDaniel took a changeup from Kevin Rogers and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Padres to leap in front, 4-2.
