4-3 Win Takes Reds to 29-25
|
Cincinnati and New York duked it out and the Reds came out victorious.
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Citi Field, dropping the New York Mets, 4-3. Chris Sale, who is a seven-time All-Star, was the difference-maker. In 6 innings, Sale surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jorge Cortéz? The Cincinnati shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reds on top, 3-2. For the game, Cortéz had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Cincinnati skipper Kevin Cash.
With the win, Cincinnati upped its record to 29-25.
