Angels 8-6 Winners Over New York
The Los Angeles Angels faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Ernesto Stainforth, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Angel Stadium of Anaheim by a final score of 8-6. Stainforth went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. The winner was McKenzie Mills in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Raymond Rodriguez took the loss. Los Angeles is now 35-18, 6½ games up in the American League West Division.

Los Angeles took the lead, 8-5, on Jamie Tolbert's 8th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Tolbert hit in the bottom of the eighth, made New York pitcher Raymond Rodriguez wince.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Tolbert told the Los Angeles Observer.
