Minnesota and Tampa Bay duked it out and the Twins came out victorious.

Twins designated hitter Andy Townsend left his mark on his team's 7-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Townsend, who is on pace for 203 hits this season, was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Minnesota in the contest. The loss makes Tampa Bay 25-29.

There was more than one reason the Twins beat the Rays, but Townsend's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"It feels good to get this one," Townsend told the Minnesota Bulletin.
