Texas Rangers pitcher Angel Yepez was in top form, leading his team past the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-1. The third-place Rangers improved to 28-29.

The Blue Jays had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Rangers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old third baseman Tony Silva came to the plate. Silva hit a run-scoring double on a 2-0 fastball from Toronto hurler Marco Gonzales. It was Silva's 9th double of the year.

"Angel is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Texas manager Ron Robinson.
