Rays Upend Astros, 8-5
|
Claude Spears had a good game, but he could not keep the Houston Astros from falling, 8-5, to the Tampa Bay Rays at Minute Maid Park. The Houston center fielder was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Orlando Estrada picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-1 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 1 in 6 innings, while yielding 4 runs. The loss makes Houston 22-34.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Buster Posey? The Tampa Bay catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rays on top, 6-4. For the game, Posey had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Posey told the Tampa Bay Observer.
