The Atlanta Hammers and Cincinnati Reds played an entertaining game for Great American Ball Park patrons.

The Atlanta Hammers withstood a fine game by Cincinnati designated hitter Blake Anderson at Great American Ball Park, to upend the Reds, 5-4. Anderson belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Atlanta pitcher Bobby Moore got the win, upping his record to 3-3. Dave Parsons got the loss.

Jim Bowers provided a timely hit. The Atlanta second baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hammers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We were the better team," crowed Bowers.

Atlanta is now 26-32, while Cincinnati is 30-27.
