The Pittsburgh Pirates dealt the Minnesota Twins a 4-2 loss at PNC Park. Pat Miller, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in runs scored with 39, was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Max Fried was the winner. He's now 3-4. The loser was Shawn Cummings. Joe Kaiser was credited with the save for Pittsburgh, his 19th of the season.

Joe Allen took Minnesota hurler Shawn Cummings deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Pirates on top, 2-1. In all, Allen had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
