Mets Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The New York Mets, behind a great outing from Braden Shipley, who is tied for 8th in the NL with a 2.75 ERA, defeated the Miami Marlins, 2-1, at Citi Field. António Seroseres claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 2-0. The loss makes Miami 26-32.
Joe Ellis was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mets catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Ellis.
