In a low-scoring contest between the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals, Iván Galló, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a 9.2 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Texas right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Rangers win. Galló yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. Joel Kirkpatrick had a big solo home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the fifth inning.
