González Swings Tigers to 9-2 Win
The exploits of right fielder Raúl González, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a .571 slugging percentage, helped the Detroit Tigers defeat the Chicago White Sox, 9-2. González went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Anthony Ranaudo collected save number 3. The American League Central Division-leading Tigers are 36-23.

With Detroit leading 6-2 in the top of the eighth, González came up to bat against Chicago pitcher Trevor Rosenthal. González hit a fastball to right-center for a bases-clearing double. His 15th double of the season put the Tigers on top, 9-2.

"They just got us," said Chicago manager Morgan Ensberg, "and that's all I can say."
