Blue Jays Win 7-4 Nail-Biter Versus Athletics
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Oakland Athletics, 7-4. Second Baseman Jonathan Fremlin deserved a large share of the credit. Fremlin was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. The current losing streak for Oakland has reached 4 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Fremlin hit a fastball from Tommy Meyers for a 3-run home run. The Blue Jays, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Fremlin said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
