The New York Mets faced a tough opponent in Miami pitcher Raúl Rosas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Citi Field by a final score of 4-3. Rosas went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win belonged to Jesús García in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Abel Jones took the loss for Miami. Pat Gross collected save number 6.

New York took a 4-3 lead on Sam Robbins's 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Robbins hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Miami pitcher Abel Jones visibly frustrated.

"We put together a nice win," Robbins said.

The Mets now have a record of 27-31 with the win over Miami.
