The home crowd had a good time watching the Miami Marlins and New York Mets get after it.

A good performance from designated hitter Al Hall helped the New York Mets defeat the Miami Marlins, 8-4. Hall went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Mets. The winner was Edgardo Castillo in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Al Wills took the loss.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Mets grabbed the lead when Hall hit his 7th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Abel Jones made it 8-4, New York.

"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Hall.

The Mets, now 28-31, have won 4 in a row.
