Hammers Curb Reds, 7-5
|
The Atlanta Hammers downed the Cincinnati Reds, 7-5, at Great American Ball Park. Josh Moore led the way, going 3-for-4 for Atlanta. Cincinnati, at 30-29, has lost 4 straight.
Jim Bowers came through with a big-time hit for Atlanta. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Cincinnati manager Kevin Cash. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
