The St. Louis Cardinals turned back the Kansas City Royals, 5-4, at Busch Stadium. Juan Encarnación, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. St. Louis is now 29-31, while Kansas City is 29-31.
