Down Goes Baltimore, 8-3, to Boston
|
Boston picked up a win at Fenway Park, bumping off the Baltimore Orioles, 8-3. Pitcher Juan Cervantes was a major reason the Red Sox emerged victorious. With this game in the books, Boston is 30-31, Baltimore 27-35.
Jim Williamson had a big 2-run triple for the Red Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Boston leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Ken Parker, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Sox ahead, 4-0.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Baltimore manager Jackson Melian.
