Los Angeles Tops Toronto, 6-2, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
The Los Angeles Angels moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the Toronto Blue Jays on the road at Rogers Centre by a score of 6-2. Angels right-hander John Gant had a strong outing. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Angels a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 League Divisional Series.

In the top of the first, Addison Russell ambushed a first pitch fastball from Marco Gonzales and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Los Angeles a quick 2-0 lead.

"All in all, I thought John pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
