The Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Cincinnati got a strong outing from Chris Sale as the Reds defeated the Kansas City Royals, 3-1, at Great American Ball Park. The Cincinnati winning streak has reached 3 games.
Cincinnati third baseman Greg Jones contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 21st hit of the season and put the Reds ahead, 2-1.
"Chris was in control from the top," said Cincinnati manager Kevin Cash.
