Raucous Miller Park Crowd Propels Brewers to 7-5 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Milwaukee Brewers took down the Washington Nationals by the score of 7-5 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the League Divisional Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Milwaukee starter Joe Ross, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs.
In the bottom of the fourth, Milwaukee first baseman Billy Wood had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out, Wood stroked a 3-run home run to left. It made the score 3-0, Milwaukee. For the game, he went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Joe gave us everything he had," said Milwaukee manager Doug Dascenzo.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Nationals Park in Washington.
