Brewers Clip Marlins, 5-4, in LCS Contest
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Miami Marlins, 5-4, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. A big contributor was designated hitter Jim Smith, who was 1-1 with 3 walks. The win moves Milwaukee into a 2-1 lead in the series.

Had Isan Diaz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Diaz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Brewers.

Marlins manager John Patterson did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
