Home Loss Shrinks Brewers Series Lead to 2-1
The Boston Red Sox have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Milwaukee Brewers, winning, 7-6, at Miller Park. Red Sox catcher Dan Combs was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Red Sox to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World Series.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Combs delivered big-time for Boston, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Ed Gaines. The game-changing hit put the Red Sox on top, 7-6.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Combs told the Boston Daily News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
