Cleveland pitcher Sandy Cline did his part in helping his team beat the Houston Astros, 8-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Cline, now 3-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win has Cleveland at 24-38.

Giancarlo Stanton had a big 2-run home run for the Guardians in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cleveland trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Kevin Rogers and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Guardians on top, 2-1.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Stanton told the Cleveland Herald.
