Raucous Melaleuca Field Crowd Propels Chukars to 6-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars knotted up the Round 2 at Melaleuca Field, thanks in large part to starter Darryl Peters. Peters quieted the Helena Brewers, enabling Idaho Falls to grab the 6-0 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
The Chukars had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-0, Idaho Falls, with one out. Helena, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Ernie Brewster dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 curveball, he lined out.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls.
