Raucous Chase Field Crowd Propels Diamondbacks to 9-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-3, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was third baseman Josh Marshania, who went 2 for 3 with 2 triples and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win moves Arizona into a 1-1 tie with Philadelphia in the series.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Diamondbacks grabbed the lead when Ju-il Pak rapped a two-out double. Arizona was trailing 2-1, when Pak hit a 2-run double off António Pacheco to put his team in front, 3-2.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Diamondbacks manager Clint Hurdle said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 26th , 2024 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
