Diamondbacks Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Arizona Diamondbacks moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the visiting Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field by a score of 9-5. Diamondbacks right fielder Jeff Taylor did some major damage. He was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win gives the Diamondbacks a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Derek Briggs dealt the Phillies a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Arizona leading 1-0, Briggs, who led the NL in batting average with .314 in 2023, hit a 1-0 changeup for a 2-run single.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Arizona manager Clint Hurdle told reporters.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chase Field in Phoenix.
