The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-5, at Busch Stadium. The win was due in part to third baseman Bob Wolfe, who was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Carlos A. Salazar was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 13 save opportunities. St. Louis is now 28-36, Cincinnati 33-31.

With St. Louis trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Wolfe hit a changeup from Bert Gooderston for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 3-1.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Wolfe told the St. Louis Daily.
