New York pitcher Chris Watts had a large part in his team subduing the Boston Red Sox, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Jake Barrett earned the save for New York, his 10th. The Yankees raised their record to 26-37.

New York took a 5-2 lead on Juan García's 13th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which García hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Tristan Robinson visibly frustrated.

García attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
