Pérez Helps Orioles Defeat Blue Jays, 11-9
Joaquín Pérez was the difference-maker for the Baltimore Orioles in what turned into a shootout with the Toronto Blue Jays. Pérez went 4-for-5 in the 11-9 Orioles win. The current losing streak for Toronto has reached 4 games.

Emmitt Shiplack had a big 2-run home run for the Orioles in the top of the fourth inning. With Baltimore trailing 6-5 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a curveball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Morgan and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Orioles on top, 7-6.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Shiplack, "this wasn't it."
