|
WL rode a fine outing from starter Travis Ott to victory over the WL Mets at Sabres Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Ott, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Jose Trejo earned the save, his 5th, for the Yankees.
Luis Torrens aided the WL cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said WL manager Jesús Amador. "But we decided not to take it."
WL has an impressive 17-7 record.
