Yankees Stumble, Lose to Royals
The Kansas City Royals topped the New York Yankees, 8-3, in American League action at Kauffman Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas City center fielder Jesús Martínez. The win was credited to 28-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Long in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Yordano Ventura took the loss. The Royals improved their record to 31-35 by beating New York.

Martínez had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Royals went on to win.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Martínez.
