The San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies, 8-2, at Coors Field. Franly Mallen, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Clarence Davis, the winner, is now 6-6. He struck out 4 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 10 hits. Colorado's current losing streak is now 5 games.

With San Francisco leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Mallen hit a curveball from Steve Rhind for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Giants ahead, 6-0.
