|
The Cincinnati Reds beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-4, at Great American Ball Park. José Parra, who finished 3rd in the NL in triples with 9 in 2023, starred for Cincinnati. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. The win gives Cincinnati a season record of 36-35.
Cincinnati took a 6-4 lead on Dana Jones's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Jones hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Arizona pitcher Zane Cochran visibly frustrated.
"José leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Cincinnati manager Kevin Cash.
