Pirates Bridle Astros, 4-3
|
Pittsburgh Pirates starter Jim Reynolds was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Houston Astros, 4-3. Joe Kaiser got credit for the save for Pittsburgh. It was his 27th of the year. Houston's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Juan Reyes to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Pirates ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Jim did what Jim does," said Pittsburgh manager Jose Mijares.
