Garnier, Phillies Too Much for Mets
|
With left fielder Michael Garnier leading the charge, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets, 9-1, at Citizens Bank Park. Garnier, who is tied for 8th in the NL in home runs with 14, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 43-34.
Early in the game, Garnier had a 3-run home run for Philadelphia. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Phillies on top, 3-0.
"We were firing on all cylinders," said Phillies manager Robby Jenkins.
