Yankees Win Nail-Biter
|
The New York Yankees beat the Cincinnati Reds, 9-8, at Great American Ball Park. New York right fielder Juan García had an outstanding performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Yankees now have a record of 31-47 with the win over Cincinnati.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until García delivered big-time for New York, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Anthony DeSclafani. The game-changing hit put the Yankees on top, 9-7.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," García told a New York Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
