Twins Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Minnesota right-hander Huascar Ynoa helped his team edge Detroit by the score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Ynoa kept the opposing lineup in check. Minnesota reliever Pat Calhoun snagged the win, upping his record to 4-3. Clarence Rice shouldered the loss. Earning the save was Randy Lewis. He's now cashed in 2 of 3 save opportunities.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Magneuris Sierra to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Twins on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Ynoa said.
With the win over Detroit, the Twins improved to 41-43.
