Baltimore pitcher Randy Marte had a large part in his team beating the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jung-ho Chang earned the save for Baltimore, his 2nd. The win for the Orioles raised their record to 43-39.

Baltimore catcher Robinson Pérez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 78th hit of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 4-1.

Marte called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
