Los Angeles Beaten, 9-7, by Washington
|
The Washington Nationals downed the Los Angeles Angels, 9-7, in 12 innings. Jeremy Austin led the way, going 3-for-5 for Washington. Robbie McJannett notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-2. The victory gives the Nationals a record of 46-38.
Mathies Reuter came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 9-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Reuter. "But we got it done."
