Cincinnati starter Steven Matz pitched well against the San Diego Padres at Great American Ball Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-4, in 10 innings. Cincinnati is now 38-45, San Diego 38-45.

Cincinnati got a clutch hit from Mike Lambright. The right fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Cincinnati manager Julio Vinas.
