The Minnesota Twins defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 6-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Minnesota was led by 28-year old left fielder Andy Townsend, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With the victory, the Twins upped their record to 47-41.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Townsend hit a grand slam home run off Rod Swift. It propelled the Twins into the lead, 6-2.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Townsend.
