The Chicago White Sox rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Rocky Thompson to a win, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-0, at PNC Park. After today's action, Chicago sits at 47-53; Pittsburgh slips to 47-52.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Wes Stevens? The Chicago shortstop had a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put the White Sox on top, 1-0. For the game, Stevens had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
