Mets Handle Los Angeles, Snag 3-2 Win
|
New York pitcher Franklin E. Perez did his part in helping his team defeat the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Perez got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. New York is now 37-65. Los Angeles is 69-33.
New York catcher Reese McGuire contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 64th hit of the season and put the Mets ahead, 3-2.
"I was a little disappointed," said Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
