Chu Helps New York Outscore Toronto
The New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 13-10, at Rogers Centre. The Yankees got a fine performance from designated hitter Li-Jen Chu, who was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. New York reliever Jonathan Rice picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Abel Haney was tagged with the loss. The save went to Jake Barrett, his 16th this season.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Willy Adames came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Toronto pitcher Abel Haney, he hit a first pitch fastball for a bases-clearing double. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 13-10.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Adames told a New York Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The Yankees raised their record to 42-60.
