The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Seattle Mariners, 4-3. Left Fielder Mike Trout deserved a large share of the credit. Trout went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Angels. Héctor Rosado, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 32nd save. The first-place Angels, at 71-33, lead the American League West Division by 18 games.

Trout contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Los Angeles in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Trout took a fastball from Eric Wilkerson and stroked the double to right. His 31st double of the season allowed the Angels to leap in front, 3-2.

"It was a good effort all around," said Trout.
