Giants Lose to Pirates, 5-2
|
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at PNC Park.
The Pittsburgh Pirates scooped up a win at PNC Park, dumping the San Francisco Giants, 5-2. Aaron Sanchez, who finished 5th in the AL in strikeouts with 196 in 2016, was essential to his team's success. Pittsburgh, at 54-60, occupies second place in the National League Central Division.
Pat Miller, who finished 3rd in the NL in triples with 8 in 2022, helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Miller said after the game.
