White Sox Need Extra Frames to Get Past Guardians
The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians put on quite a show.

Starting pitcher Phil Childress pitched well enough to help the Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians, 5-4. The winner was Jesús Mejía in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Chasen Shreve took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Dominic Smith in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 37-year old right-handed pitcher Heath Hembree to win the game for Chicago. The home crowd went nuts.

"This one wasn't over until it was over," Smith said, postgame.

Today's win puts Chicago at 61-57, while Cleveland falls to 56-64.
